Founder and Managing Partner

Angelo Martorell is the Founder and Managing Partner of Martorell Capital Partners, which he founded in 2016. Angelo is responsible for investment strategy, security analysis, and portfolio management for all MCP client accounts.

Angelo has over 10 years of professional experience in both investing and senior business management. Prior to founding Martorell Capital, Angelo was an analyst at Andalusian Capital Partners, an event-driven hedge fund. From 2008-2013, Angelo was the Chief Financial Officer for International Education Services, and assisted in the sale of IES to a private equity acquirer.

Angelo holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and has also earned the Charter Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.

Angelo has won many accolades for his world-class investment research, including first place awards from some of the most prestigious investment conferences, such as the Sohn Investment Conference in 2015, the Boston Investment Conference in 2014, and The Ross Stock Pitch Competition in 2013. Angelo’s investment ideas have also been featured in prominent financial publications such as The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s.

Angelo is a former professional track cyclist and strives to bring the same level of dedication and commitment to his investing activities that he brought to his athletic pursuits. Angelo is proud to have represented both the United States and Mexican national teams in cycling and was the National Champion in both countries, ranking as the eighth best in the world in 2003.
